Amy Duffy serves as the Executive Director and Founder of Harbor Reins.  As the granddaughter of a WWII veteran, Amy has always had a special place in her heart for military and veterans.  This strong connection to our nation’s heroes made the decision to form Harbor Reins an easy one.  Amy also works in the mental health role during Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions, utilizing over a decade of her experience from the mental health field. Amy is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.  Amy has completed advanced training in Natural Lifemanship (TF-EAP) and is currently pursuing dual certification as both an Equine Professional and Mental Health Professional through the Natural Lifemanship program.

Liza Chartier MEd. NCC

Liza Chartier functions as the Equine Director for Harbor Reins and works in the equine specialist role during Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions. She has over 20 years of horse experience, holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from NCSU, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Meredith College, and an Associate’s degree in Equine Technology from Martin Community College. Liza has completed advanced training in Natural Lifemanship (TF-EAP) and is currently pursuing dual certification as both an Equine Professional and Mental Health Professional through the Natural Lifemanship program.
